Remaja usia 1019 tahun mengalami pertumbuhan dan perkembangan pesat sehingga membutuhkan asupan gizi seimbang untuk mendukung pertumbuhan, pematangan organ reproduksi, dan aktivitas fisik. Indonesia masih menghadapi masalah gizi remaja. Berdasarkan Riskesdas 2018, prevalensi risiko Kekurangan Energi Kronis (KEK) pada remaja putri mencapai 36,3%, sedangkan di Sumatera Selatan sebesar 12,82%. KEK ditandai dengan Lingkar Lengan Atas (LiLA)
Adolescents aged 1019 years experience rapid growth and development, requiring
adequate balanced nutrition to support physical growth, reproductive organ maturation,
and physical activity. Indonesia continues to face nutritional problems among
adolescents. According to the 2018 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas), the prevalence
of risk of chronic energy deficiency (CED) among female adolescents reached 36.3%,
while the prevalence in South Sumatra was 12.82%. CED is indicated by a mid-upper
arm circumference (MUAC) of less than 23.5 cm and may lead to decreased immunity,
impaired growth, and anemia. This study aimed to determine the relationship between
the level of knowledge of balanced nutrition and the incidence of CED among female
adolescents at PGRI Betung Senior High School, Banyuasin Regency. This
quantitative study employed a cross-sectional design and was conducted from February
to August 2026, with data collection carried out in June 2026. The study population
consisted of 128 adolescents, and a sample of 56 respondents was selected. Data were
collected using a balanced nutrition knowledge questionnaire and MUAC
measurements. The data were analyzed using the chi-square test, with a significance
level of 0.05. The results showed that 27 respondents (48.2%) had good knowledge,
eight (14.3%) had moderate knowledge, and 21 (37.5%) had poor knowledge. Based
on MUAC measurements, 32 respondents (57.1%) had normal nutritional status, while
24 (42.9%) were classified as having CED. The statistical analysis yielded a p-value of
less than 0.001, indicating a significant relationship between knowledge of balanced
nutrition and nutritional status based on MUAC. Female adolescents are encouraged to
improve their nutritional knowledge and apply balanced nutrition principles in their
daily lives to support optimal nutritional status and help prevent CED
